Artifacts: download, check and protect
Backups › Artifacts lists stored and verified artifacts by default. Filter by plan, server, source type, engine, format or encryption. Chips show Restore proven or Not proven yet, Pinned, Kept until, Immutable until and Legal hold.

Section titled “Download”-
Open the artifact’s menu and choose Stored bytes or Decrypted

Stored bytes - exactly as in storage, still encrypted.

Decrypted - the platform removes its encryption on the way. Needs a second-factor code from the last five minutes.

Give a reason if asked, then Download
Production artifacts need a reason; the audit log keeps it. The browser gets a short-lived link - the file never passes through the page.
Protect an artifact from retention

| Legal hold | Until the hold is released. On a bucket with Object Lock the hold is set in storage itself. |
Each asks why, and the audit log keeps the answer.

Expired
Retention let it go; deletion follows after the grace period.
Corrupt or Missing
A check found it changed or gone - investigate and run the plan again.
