Licensing

The Free edition needs no licence. Pro, Business, Enterprise and trial licences are activated with a licence key (XTIC-…, e-mailed when you buy or start a trial). Your licence is a small file signed by INTELLIENS INFOCOM LLP and bound to your Xtic installation; Xtic verifies the signature itself, so it never needs to ask whether a file is genuine.

Activate online

1. In Xtic, open Settings › Licence and choose Activate.
2. Paste the licence key. Xtic sends the key and its installation identity, signed with the installation’s own key.
3. The licence file comes back, Xtic verifies it and the paid features switch on.

A licence is active on one installation at a time. Re-activating the same installation is always free.

Activate offline (Enterprise)

1. In Xtic: Settings › Licence › Offline activation › Download activation request.
2. In the portal at my.xtic.in: Licences › Activate offline, upload the request and download the licence file.
3. In Xtic: upload the licence file.

Renewals for offline installations appear in the portal after payment; download the new file and upload it the same way.

Moving to a new server

Deactivate in Xtic (Settings › Licence › Deactivate), then activate on the new installation. If the old server is gone, release the licence in the portal (Licences › Move licence) — three moves a year are self-service; support can allow more. Restoring Xtic’s self-backup onto new hardware keeps its identity and needs no move.

The daily check-in

Online installations check in about once a day. The check-in sends the licence and installation identifiers, the version and — unless you switch it off under Settings › Licence › Share usage counts — counts such as servers and verified runs. It never sends backup content, hostnames or credentials. The reply can carry an updated licence file (added servers, a renewal) or a status change.

Grace and expiry

Always working

Restores, downloads, verification, the recovery kit and the recovery CLI keep working in every licence state, and retention never prunes a plan that licensing has paused. Security restrictions — approvals, scopes, environment policies — stay enforced.
